Please go through the Terms and Conditions given below thoroughly before you decide to make product purchase from our website. Monk Paper is a retail business of handmade paper products from Nepal. Based in Columbia, Maryland, we strive to give our customers a satisfying shopping experience. These Terms and Conditions work together with our policies to guide the company’s relation with the customers in regards to this website. To make a purchase, just browse our store and add any item you would like to buy into the shopping cart. Once you are done selecting items, click on ‘Checkout’. What follows is a short list of details that has to be filled by you to complete the order. We accept credit card payments from Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, as well as Check payments and PayPal. If you are shopping from anywhere other than the United States of America, your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency upon payment.

Any purchase is not charged until the specific item is ship-ready. The same applies for backordered items. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax and regular postal mail or over the internet. When we send you a confirmation of order, it indicates that we have received your order and in no way suggests a contract. A contract between us exists only when we send you an invoice which also indicates that your order has been accepted.

This term has been created to protect us from circumstances where a mistake has been made in pricing or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for any reason. In such cases, you will be the first to learn about it. For an example, if the price on an item has changed, we will contact you first to ensure if it is an acceptable price.

Everything to do with Shipping

We make all our shipment through FedEx and USPS, with insurance protection. Shipment fare for international deliveries varies depending on the country. To avoid monetary turbulences, we collect an initial amount and pay the shipping sum that applies to your country as stated by the shipping company. In case, the delivery fare quoted by the shipping company turns out to be more than the initial amount we collected, we will notify you via email. In situations as such, not a single procedure will be taken up without your approval.

Do note that the customer making international order is responsible for any custom, duty or import tax fare that may be charged by the country of the receiving address. Read more about it at International Orders.

Also, depending on the weight of items, shipping charges may vary. Again, you will be notified of any increased charge. We do not charge any handling fee.

Delivery Schedule

Monk Paper tries to complete deliveries within 3 working days. In unforeseen circumstances, delays are to be expected. But we will let you know about it immediately. International orders may take longer since they are given additional scrutiny of authenticity. To learn more on this, go to Shipping Policy.

Back Orders

In scenarios when the item of your selection is not in stock, we will go the length to have it back ordered for you. But before we do that, we will have you informed about it via email, with the option to cancel the order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges

Orders made from within the United States are entitled to sales tax and thus, will be applied to all in state orders. We operate Monk Paper from the state of Maryland. All other orders are tax free. In order to reduce tax to zero, make it a point to click the ‘exempt’ box.


Of all the things, security of our customers’ personal details and credit card information is our top most priority. Upon the placement of an order in our website, the credit card number used is encrypted using 128 bit encryption which is only decrypted when they reach our computer. Never do we enter the number in clear text on any website. We don’t share your personal information with any other third parties either. As we have stated earlier, we want our customers to have a satisfying shopping experience here at Monk Paper. And that is one thing we guarantee you will get. We take pride in our products, which are all genuine Monk Paper products. In case, you are not happy with the product you have received we have a 15-day return policy.
